I take black and white photographs when my objective is to capture the
soul
of my subjects without the distraction of the colors.
I believe that life should be observed with more scrutiny than just
a
glance. I humbly approach subjects that may seem ordinary when seen
superficially. However, by hearing their stories I can visualize the
universal statements each one can make. I first listen to my subjects
and
then determine what my picture must say.
I try to translate the profoundness of ordinary life through my photographs.
Thus, whether I am photographing people or landscape, my aim is not
to
reproduce images, but to capture the atmosphere and essence of their
existence.
I want unaffected subjects to become special in their own uniqueness.
